Widow raped after entering the house, case filed at police station

Noakhali District Representative:

A case has been filed against a 32-year-old widow mother of two in Subarnachar, Noakhali.

The accused Millat Hossain (24) is the son of Kamal Uddin of Char Mohiuddin village in Ward 9 of Charjubali Union in the upazila.

On Wednesday (June 2), the abused housewife herself filed a case with the Charjabbar Police Station under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act.

On the same morning, the victim’s housewife was sent to Noakhali Sadar Hospital for medical examination. Earlier, the incident took place at around 11:30 pm on May 30 at the residence of a widow housewife in Char Mohiuddin village of the upazila.

Citing the statement of the case, the police said that the husband of the tortured woman died 8 years ago. Last (March 30) at 9:30 pm, he fell asleep at home after dinner with his children. At 11:10 pm, he responded to the call of nature and left the door of the house open. On that occasion, Millat Hossain of the neighboring house entered his house. As soon as the widow entered the house after working outside the house and closed the door, the rapist Millat grabbed her face, threw her on the ground of the house and raped her at around 11:30 pm.

Charjabbar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Ziaul Haque confirmed the matter. He added that the victim was sent to Noakhali General Hospital for medical examination at noon. Police are trying to arrest the accused.
