Vice-President is elected to the UN General Assembly of Bangladesh

Special Representative:

Bangladesh will lead the 7th session of the UN General Assembly next September as vice-president.

Bangladesh was unanimously elected vice-president from Asia and the Pacific in the elections held at the UN headquarters in New York on Monday (June 8). Kuwait, Philippines and Laos were elected vice-presidents in the 7th session with Bangladesh in Monday’s elections.

Note: In the term 2017-18, Bangladesh led the UN General Assembly session as Vice-President. That was the 71st session. The UN has rules for electing presidents from different regions every year.
