Chief of the newly appointed Bangladesh Army Lieutenant General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed

This appointment will be effective from 24 June 2021 by promoting him to the post of General. He will remain in this post for the next 3 years. The information was given in a circular signed by Deputy Secretary Wahida Sultana on June 10 by order of the President.

The government has promoted Lieutenant General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed to the post of General and appointed him as the Chief of the Bangladesh Army.

This appointment and promotion will be effective from June 24. SM Shafiuddin Ahmed will be the Chief of Army Staff of Bangladesh for the next three years.

The Ministry of Defense has issued a notification in this regard on Thursday. Incumbent Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed will be replaced by SM Shafiuddin.

Shafiuddin Ahmed is currently serving as the Quartermaster General of the Bangladesh Army.
