21 members of brokers and fraudsters arrested from Chittagong BRTA

RAB-7 has arrested 21 members of brokers and fraudsters in a raid in Chittagong (BRTA) regional office area.
RAB-8 Assistant Director (Media) Mohammad Nurul Abshar confirmed that they were detained from the BRTA office in Natunpara area of Bayazid Police Station on Sunday (June 13).
The arrested accused are Mohammad Parvez (30), Mohammad Anwar Hossain (35), Mohammad Forkan (48), Mohammad Sohail (40), Nur Alam (60), Mohammad Munna (28), Nasim Uddin (49) and Abdullah Al Noman. (25), Md. Jubayer (28), Ripon Das (25), Badiul Alam (64), Md. Enam (21), Md. Emran (30), Md. Abul Kalam (40), Md. Nazrul Islam (40), Md. Nadim (45), Md. Saifuddin (29), Md. Morshed (21), Md. Abdul Hannan (24), Md. Khorshed Alam (35), Md. Sarwar Hossain (28).
ASP Sohail Mahmud, Patenga Special Camp Commander, Assistant Director of RAB-7, said that RAB conducted the operation at the Chittagong BRTA office on the basis of secret information. Later, 21 members of the gang were arrested from there. He said a long-running brokerage cycle had developed around the BRTA. Due to their harassment, customers who come to BRTA are being harassed. In addition, the organized brokers illegally demanded money from customers who came to register motor vehicles and driving. In the wake of such allegations, 21 brokers have been arrested. The arrested accused later seized Rs 2,00,000 from various customers including various license renewal forms, registration forms, ownership transfer forms, route permit issues and renewal forms.
He further said that during the preliminary interrogation, it was learned that the members of the brokers and fraudsters have been causing various problems to the customers coming to the BRTA regional office in the name of resolving various problems very quickly. Ordinary consumers have expressed relief over the arrest of brokers and members of fraudsters. The arrested accused are being handed over to Hathazari police station in Chittagong district.
There are allegations that the people of BRTA themselves are involved in this brokerage. Many of the victims who came for the service said that the strategy has changed after the stern warning of the bridge minister. Meanwhile, capitalizing on the manpower crisis, the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) broke into the Chittagong office. Since the enactment of the new Road Transport Act, the BRTA has been exploiting the opportunity to increase the demand for fitness updates and license renewals.
