The young man lost his leg in a head-on collision with a motorcycle

Two reckless speeding motorcycles collided head-on in Noakhali’s Sonaimuri. At least 3 people including 2 motorcyclists were injured in the incident.

The accident took place on Sonaimuri to Chaumuhani road in Bargaon union of the upazila on Saturday noon.

The injured have been identified as Sifat Ahmed, 19, son of Kashem Neta of Bargaon village under Upazila Bargaon union and Atiq, 18, son of Bajumia of the same village. Jamal Uddin (25) of Sikdar Hat in Begumganj.

According to local sources, Sifat, son of Kashem leader, was going to Chaumuhani on a motorcycle from Sonaimuri around noon. On the way, the motorcycle reached Chhatarpaiya-Kashipur area near Kashipur Al-Habib Hospital in Bargaon Union and collided head-on with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. Sifat, 21, son of Kashem, a leader of Bargaon village, was seriously injured in the incident. He was later admitted to Maizdi Prime Hospital in critical condition. On the other hand, the condition of the legs of Jamal Uddin (25) of Sikder Hat area of ​​Begumganj is critical. One of his legs was about to be detached from the body. He was later sent to Dhaka for advanced treatment.

Local resident Faisal Mahmood confirmed the matter.

Officer-in-charge of Sonaimuri Police Station Muhammad Gias Uddin said no one had lodged a complaint in this regard. He is not aware of this. He will look into the matter.
