Poet Sufia Kamal illuminates the dark age of women

Former principal of Chittagong Fine Arts College Rita Dutta said at a discussion meeting on the 110th birth anniversary of Sufia Kamal, a renowned Bengali novelist and one of the most courageous organizers of the great liberation war, that she enlightened the dark age of women. He was always vocal against bigots and religious businessmen. Sufia Kamal has become immortal in the literary culture as she was able to create awakening in the consciousness of liberation among the men and women of this country. He said that the poet Sufia Kamal has given courage to the fearless freedom fighters of the great liberation war of the country through her writings. Poet Sufia Kamal called on the government to preserve her literary works properly. In his keynote address, Mofizur Rahman said that the contribution of poet Sufia Kamal to the cultural movement of the country is immense, her literary works and living poems still inspire the students of this country. If the ideal of poet Sufia Kamal can be implemented properly, the subculture will leave this country. Moinuddin Quader Lavlu, a young educationist and human rights organizer, presided over the discussion program on the life and work of poet Sufia Kamal organized by Bangabandhu Academy Chittagong Mahanagar. Mofizur Rahman, General Secretary of South District Awami League was the keynote speaker at the function conducted by Syed Didar Ashraf, General Secretary of Bangabandhu Academy.
