The revenue department of Chittagong City Corporation (CHC) has collected 46 percent of the target in the last financial year. Of this, private holding accounted for 51 per cent and government holding for 44 per cent. Revenue Circle-5 has been the first to collect revenue from private holdings. In the last financial year, the revenue department has earned Tk 269.56 crore from all sectors including municipal taxes. In the previous financial year, the income was 253 crore 8 lakh 19 thousand 98 rupees.

In other words, last year 26 crore 51 lakh 71 thousand 601 taka has been collected more.

According to the revenue department of Chasik, in the last financial year, the total revenue collection target of Chasik was 333 crore 24 lakh 21 thousand 63 rupees. From 1st July 2020 to 30th June 2021, a total of 6 revenue circles of Chasik have collected 156 crore 92 lakh 21 thousand 70 rupees 45 paise. Of this, the income from government holding has been 70 crore 36 lakh 43 thousand 648 taka 20 paise. Which is 44 percent of the total target. The income from private holding has been 8 crore 53 lakh 6 thousand 412 rupees 25 paise. Among the circles, the highest private house tax has been collected in circle no.

The collection rate in this circle is 72 percent. Circle No. 6 and Circle No. 3 are in the second position. The collection rate of these two circles is 69 percent. This is followed by Circle 4 with 56 percent collection. In Circle No. 2, the collection is 56 percent. Circle No. 6 has collected 54 percent and Circle-1 has collected 50 percent. Circle-6 has collected at least 20 percent. Besides, circle number three has been the first in the collection of government tax. The realization of this circle is 189 percent. Circle 6 has been second. Their collection is 69 percent. Circle-2 came third with 56 percent. Taka, mechanical vehicle fee 15 lakh 61 thousand 10 taka, non-mechanical vehicle fee one lakh 17 thousand 480 taka, miscellaneous income 26 lakh 63 thousand 617 taka, estate 35 crore 42 lakh 26 thousand 982 taka.

When asked, Chasik’s chief revenue officer Mohammad Nazrul Islam said a cross-program was launched at the end of the financial year to collect revenue. There was a positive response. He said they were working on a plan to increase the collection rate in the future.
