Two fake RABs were arrested for defaming RABs

RAB-11 has arrested two fake RABs named Main Uddin (33) and Abdul Mannan Pandit (48) in Noakhali’s Begumganj and Senbagh. There are three more fugitives involved in the incident.

The detainees are Main Uddin, son of Abdur Rashid of Rafiqpur village in Rasulpur union of Begumganj and Abdul Mannan, son of Imam Ali of the same village. Cash and mobile phones were recovered from them.

On Saturday (July 10) at noon, the RAB filed a case and handed them over to the Begumganj police station. According to the complaint, the detainees were using their RAB and RAB sources to extort money from various people in the area, including ordinary people and school teachers. Following this, the accused made a pad of RAB and made a list of names of local people in it.

Later, RAB demanded Rs 20,000-30,000 for threatening to arrest the people mentioned in the list and removing their names from the list. Among them, they have taken money from more than one person. On Friday night, a team from RAB-11, CPC-3 Laxmipur camp raided in front of Rafiqpur Government Primary School in South Rafiqpur village on the basis of such allegations.

Main Uddin was arrested from the side road of the school during the operation. At that time, fake pads, cash and a mobile phone were seized from him. Later, on the basis of the information provided by him, another accused Abdul Mannan Pandit was arrested in a raid in Bijbagh Union of Senbagh Upazila.

In this regard, RAB-11 CPC-3 Laxmipur camp company commander Additional Superintendent of Police Khandaker. Shamim Hossain said that during the preliminary interrogation, the arrested accused have admitted the truth of the allegation. Attempts are being made to arrest other fugitive members of the gang.
