Arrested for assisting Rohingya to move illegally

Police have arrested two brokers for allegedly helping Rohingyas fleeing the Rohingya camp at Hatiyar Bhasanchar in Noakhali. The arrested are Akbar Hossain Saifullah (38) and Nur Islam (44) of Char Alauddin village.
Police on Tuesday (August 3rd) remanded the two accused in custody in a foreign national law case and sent them to jail through a judicial court. Earlier in the day, police arrested two accused from Char Alauddin village in Mohammadpur union of Subarnachar.
Ziaul Haque, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Charjabbar Police Station in Subarnachar, said when questioned after detaining Rohingyas who had fled a few days ago, they said Saifullah and Nur Islam, residents of Subarnachar Upazila, had been assisting Rohingyas fleeing the Bhasanchar shelter for a long time. A case of foreign national law was filed against the Rohingyas detained in this incident. According to the Rohingyas, Saifullah and Nur Islam have been accused as accomplices in the case.
OC Ziaul Haque said they had been together since the case. They were arrested in a raid on their house on Monday night.
