Bhubaneswar RAB members arrested with drugs worth Tk 6 lakh 61 thousand

RAB-7 Chittagong has arrested a drug dealer along with 2,535 pieces of Yaba tablets worth Tk 08 lakh 81 thousand while smuggling fake RAB members from Bariardhala Union area No. 2 of Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong. Nurul Abshar told Daily Nab Desh Barta that he came to know through secret news that some drug dealers were staying in Bariardhala Union area No. 2 of Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong for the purpose of buying and selling drugs. In the VO of the news, an expedition team of RAB-6 Chittagong conducted an operation in the area around 11 am on Thursday (August 5). At that time, RAB members saw a man standing with a travel bag and when he wanted to know his identity, he introduced himself as a RAB member. When the expedition team questioned him in detail, he identified himself as Md. Sohel Rana (34), father Md. Azizul Haque, Sang Bhandara, Thana Gabtali, District Bogra. Searching the travel bag in the mountains. A total of 2,535 pieces of yaba tablets were recovered from inside the two small black and blue cloth bags and the accused was apprehended. RAB’s black belt, two RAB’s vests and a photocopy of one RAB ID card have been recovered. The estimated value of the recovered drugs is Tk 08 lakh 81 thousand. It is learned that the arrested accused has been collecting drugs from drug dealers in Chittagong district under the guise of fake RAB members for a long time and later selling them to drug dealers and drug users in different parts of the country. The arrested accused and the recovered evidence have been handed over to Sitakunda Model Police Station for further legal action.
