Providing food aid to 1600 families in Chittagong as a gift from the Prime Minister

300 construction workers, 300 transport workers, 300 disabled, 50 landless families affected by the lockdown at MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong metropolis at 11 am today, July 15, 2021 at the initiative of the district administration, Chittagong during the strict restrictions imposed to prevent the transmission of corona virus in Chittagong. Food aid was provided to 1600 people of various walks of life including 300 helpless uprooted people as a gift from the Hon’ble Prime Minister. Present as the chief guest, Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong Md. Kamrul Hasan NDC expressed his gratitude to Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and directed everyone to follow hygiene rules to prevent corona virus. Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mominur Rahman presided over the function. Since the inception of the lockdown, the district administration has so far distributed food aid to about 6,000 poor and unemployed people in the Chittagong metropolis. Following his holy Eid-ul-Azha, the Prime Minister’s gift was handed over to 1600 people today. Red Crescent, Youth Red Crescent, MA Foundation, CPB and Better Future assisted the district administration as volunteers in the program. Due to the temporary restrictions, 6 kg of rice, 1 kg of pulses, 1 liter of soybean oil, 1 kg of sugar, 1 kg of potatoes and a bar of soap were handed over to each of the victims.
