7 days after the burial, the body of the pregnant housewife was exhumed

Noakhali District Representative:

The body of a pregnant housewife named Farzana Akhter Laboni (22) has been exhumed at Chatkhil in Noakhali six days after her burial.

The body was exhumed from Noakhala village in Chatkhil in the presence of Noakhali district administration executive magistrate Asaduzzaman Rony at around 3pm on Monday (July 19).

According to local sources, Laboni, a 6-month-pregnant housewife, died at her rented house at around 11pm on July 13. She used to live in a rented house in Noakhali Sadar due to the employment of her husband Faisal Hossain. Her husband claimed that Laboni committed suicide on July 13. Sudharam police prepared an inquest report.

Later, the body was buried at Noakhala in Chatkhil without an autopsy at the request of Laboni’s guardian. According to the locals, the scars were spread on various social media including Facebook when the pictures of torture marks and scars on the body of the deceased were spread. Later, when an application was made to the court, the court directed for an autopsy.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sudharam Police Station Mohammad Shahed Uddin said the family of the deceased first applied for burial without autopsy. Five days after the incident, the family of the deceased wanted to exhume the body and conduct an autopsy. The body was exhumed and sent to Abdul Malek Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Noakhali District Administration Executive Magistrate Asaduzzaman Rony said the body was exhumed on a court order and sent to the hospital after an inquest.
