One fraudster was arrested for cheating using the name of the Deputy Minister of Education

Md. Shihab Uddin Siddiqui @ Rihan Sihab (28), father-Md. Taher Uddin Siddiqui, mother-Mosa: Nasim Ara Begum, Sang-Rosangiri, Anwar Azim Master Bari, Rosangiri UP, using the name of Deputy Minister of Education. Fatikchhari, District Chittagong. Present-Oxygen Residential Area, Pathanpara Mosque Road, Haji Mohammad Ismail House, Holding No-5626/1, Ward 3, Thana-Bayezid Bostami, District-Chittagong. Arrested near Tim Kotwali while cheating at the hotel again.
Md. Saiful Islam Nayan is a businessman. She met Shihab in 2016 due to her job abroad. When Shihab asked him to arrange a job in Qatar, Saiful Islam Nayan gave Shihab a photocopy of his passport. Shihab could not go to Qatar as he could not get a visa for his job. At one point the communication between them became disconnected. On 27/08/2021, the authorities of the tourist hotel called Motel Saikat on Station Road under Kotwali Police Station called Md. Saiful Islam Nayan on his mobile phone and asked him to pay the arrears of Rs. 11,000 / -. He was surprised and asked what the bill was.

Through conversation, he came to know that Shihab provided photocopy of passport in his name, stayed for 2 (two) days and left the hotel without paying the bill of Rs. 11,000 / -. After that, on 29/07/2021 at around 10.30 pm, he called the reception authority of Hotel Radisson Blu under Kotwali Police Station from his mobile number 01701136 to his personal mobile number 01738-2063 and asked him to pay the arrears of the room and he was shocked again. When asked about the rent, the hotel authorities said they would stay at the hotel. He said he did not stay at the hotel and also said his home was oxygen. Even after this, he immediately went to the reception of Hotel Radisson Blu at SS Khaled Road under Kotwali Police Station at around 11:20 pm on 29/08/2021. After living in Blue for 01 (one) day and not paying the bill after eating, they got a mobile number from the photocopy of the passport and called him. Shihab Instead of giving his identity, Saiful Islam provided a photocopy of Nayan’s passport and spent the night at the hotel using his name, father’s name and address. If you want to see him, you can know that Shihab has paid the bill of Rs. 25,000 / – and left. When Saiful Islam Nayan filed a statement against Shihab, a case was filed under Section 406/420 of the SB Act.

Investigating officer SI / Iqbal Hossain Bhuiyan conducted the operation with the help of fellow officers and arrested Shihab from in front of Riazuddin Bazar under Kotwali police station at around 10.30 pm on 03/07/2021. Under interrogation, he admitted to staying at the hotel fraudulently, including disclosing his name and address, and leaving the hotel without paying the bill.
