Fifty bodies were recovered from the rubble of the burnt factory
Narayanganj district representative:
A fire broke out at Sejan Food Factory in Rupganj, Narayanganj at 10.30 pm on the 8th. After 17 hours of work, 16 units of the fire service worked and the fire was brought under control up to the 4th floor. The fire service recovered the bodies of at least 50 people from the 1st floor to the 4th floor. More than 50 are still missing.
Members of the fire service compiled a list of 48 people based on information provided by relatives. The fire service did not match any of the bodies recovered because the bodies and faces were burned.
The fire service said they would test their DNA and inform their families of the final decision. And the workers are outraged that they started throwing brick batons from the vicinity of the building. Police have been deployed at the scene, the police are also trying to disperse them by firing rubber bullets and TRCells. The body is being handed over to the hospital by fire service ambulance.
The weather around has stopped with the tears of the relatives of the dead. Their only request is at least the last task of their relatives so that they can do it.
They are standing around the factory with pictures of relatives to see them for the last time. People who have lost relatives are almost crazy. The bodies are being handed over to Dhaka Medical Morgue.
