One killed, four injured in PNC-CNG head-on collision in Subarnachar

A mason has been killed in a head-on collision between a pickup van and a CNG-powered autorickshaw in Noakhali. At that time 4 more CNG passengers were injured. However, the names and addresses of the injured were not known.
The deceased was identified as Pana Ullah, 20, son of late Safi Ullah of Char Mohiuddin village in Charjubali union of Subarnachar upazila and father of two children. He was buried in the family graveyard on Saturday (June 5) at 10 am. Earlier, the accident took place on the Subarnachar to Sonapur road north of Keramat Nagar in Sadar upazila around 5:15 pm on Friday. He died on the way to Dhaka for better treatment after being rescued in critical condition.
Omar Abdullah Mamun, the cousin of the deceased, confirmed the information. Citing eyewitnesses, he added that Pana Ullah was a mason by profession.
He was going to Sonapur Bazar by CNG from At Kapalia area of Subarnachar upazila on Friday afternoon. He was supposed to go to Basurhat Bazar to work from there. On the way, the CNG reached near Keramat Nagar in Sadar Upazila and collided head-on with a reckless speeding pickup van coming from the opposite direction. He was seriously injured in the head. He later died on the way to Dhaka.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Charjabbar Police Station Mohammad Ziaul Haque said, “I was informed about the accident.” The relatives of the deceased were informed that the Sadar Thana would take legal action in this regard as the accident site was Sadar Upazila.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station Mohammad Sahed Uddin said no one had informed them about the incident.
